ITINERARY
Day 1, June 21: Arrival in Cusco – City Touro to Sacred Valley

Upon arrival in Cusco (3,399 m / 11,152 ft), you’ll be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to rest and acclimate to the altitude. In the afternoon, embark on a Cusco city tour, exploring key historical and archaeological sites: •Koricancha (Temple of the Sun): Once covered in gold, this Incan temple was the empire’s most sacred site. •Cusco Cathedral: A masterpiece of colonial architecture with stunning religious artworks. •Sacsayhuamán: A fortress with massive stone walls and breathtaking views of the city. •Q’enqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay: Important ceremonial and military sites surrounding Cusco. Altitude: 3,399 m / 11,152 ft Approximate distances: Short walks around Cusco, driving distance of 20 km (12.4 mi)

Day 2, June 22: Sacred Valley – Chinchero, Moray, Maras, Urubamba

After breakfast, head into the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a lush and fertile region that was central to Incan agriculture. •Chinchero (3,762 m / 12,343 ft): Visit a local weaving center where artisans demonstrate ancient textile techniques. •Moray (3,500 m / 11,482 ft): These circular terraces, resembling an amphitheater, were an Incan agricultural laboratory used to test crops at different altitudes. •Maras Salt Mines (3,380 m / 11,089 ft): Thousands of salt pools cascade down the mountainside, producing pink-hued Andean salt. Continue to Urubamba, where you will spend the night, enjoying the tranquility of the valley. Day 3, June 23: Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu – Train Back to Cusco

Early morning transfer to the train station in Ollantaytambo for a scenic train journey through the Urubamba River valley to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, take a short bus ride up to Machu Picchu (2,430 m / 7,972 ft), where you’ll embark on a guided tour of the world-famous Incan citadel. Marvel at: •The Intihuatana Stone, believed to be an astronomical clock. •The Temple of the Sun, showcasing remarkable stone craftsmanship. •The Temple of the Three Windows, representing the three realms of Incan cosmology. After exploring, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch, then board the train back to Ollantaytambo or Cusco. Altitude: 2,792 m (Ollantaytambo) – 2,430 m (Machu Picchu) – 3,399 m (Cusco) Approximate distances: Train ride (1.5–2 hours), bus ride (30 min), walking tour (2-3 hours) Train ride Aguas Calientes to Cusco (3 hours) If taking ground transportation from Ollantaytambo to Cusco, the ride takes about 1.5 hours.

Day 4, June 24: Inti Raymi – Festival of the Sun

Experience the grandeur of Inti Raymi.This ancient Inca celebration marks the winter solstice (06/20/2025) and honors Inti, the sun god, with vibrant ceremonies, traditional music, and elaborate dances.he festival unfolds across three significant locations: the Qorikancha Temple, Cusco's Plaza de Armas, and the Sacsayhuamán fortress, offering a profound insight into Peru's rich cultural heritage. •8:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco (Altitude: 3,400 meters / 11,155 feet). •8:30 AM: Arrival at Qorikancha Temple (Distance from city center: approximately 500 m / 0.3 miles). oCeremony Duration: Approximately 45 minutes. •9:30 AM: Procession to Plaza de Armas (Distance: approximately 500 m / 0.3 miles). oCeremony Duration: Approximately 1 hour. •11:00 AM: Departure by bus to Sacsayhuamán fortress (Distance: approximately 3 km / 1.9 miles; Altitude: 3,700 meters / 12,139 feet). •12:00 PM: Arrival at Sacsayhuamán. oBox lunch provided upon arrival. oMain ceremony begins at 1:30 PM and lasts about 2 hours. •4:00 PM: Conclusion of the festival. •4:30 PM: Return to Cusco.

Day 5, June 25: Farewell to Cusco

Spend your final morning exploring Cusco at your leisure, visiting vibrant markets or perhaps attending mass at the iconic Cathedral. At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima and onward to your final destination. Meals: Breakfast
