ITINERARY
Day 1, June 16: Cusco to Sacred Valley

Your journey begins with a transfer to the breathtaking Sacred Valley. Along the way, we’ll stop at the Pisac Viewpoint, offering panoramic vistas of the valley and its lush, picturesque landscapes. For lunch, indulge in a delicious buffet featuring a variety of Peruvian specialties. The Sacred Valley’s lower altitude compared to Cusco provides the perfect environment to begin acclimatizing. Spend the afternoon at leisure in Urubamba, exploring the town’s charming streets or simply relaxing in the tranquil surroundings. We stay at a comfortable 3-star hotel in Urubamba. Altitude: Cusco: 3,400 meters (11,155 feet). Sacred Valley: Varies between 2,800 and 3,000 meters (9,186 and 9,843 feet) Distance: Cusco – Urubamba 60km (37.5 miles)

Day 2, June 17: The Majestic Machu Picchu Experience

Start your day with an early train ride through the Sacred Valley’s stunning landscapes, where the Urubamba River flows alongside towering mountains. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, a short bus ride will take you to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu, the "Lost City of the Incas." Your guided tour will unravel the mysteries of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore iconic landmarks such as the Main Plaza, Sacred Sun Dial (Intihuatana), Royal Rooms, and the Temple of the Three Windows. The architectural ingenuity and spiritual significance of the site will leave you in awe. Take in the breathtaking Andean vistas and capture unforgettable moments before descending to Aguas Calientes for a delightful Peruvian lunch. In the afternoon, board the train back to the Sacred Valley, reflecting on the magic of this extraordinary day. After dinner we go back to our hotel in Urubamba. Day 3, June 18: Maras and Moray – A Journey Through Time

After breakfast, journey to the Sacred Valley’s enchanting Maras Salt Mines, where thousands of shimmering salt pools have been harvested by local families since pre-Inca times. Marvel at this intricate network and its enduring traditions. Next, visit the Moray archaeological site, famous for its unique circular terraces. Believed to have been an agricultural laboratory for crop experimentation, Moray offers a glimpse into the Incas’ ingenious use of microclimates. After an enriching morning, enjoy a lunch featuring Andean flavors before returning to Cusco. The afternoon is yours to explore or relax at your leisure. Day 4, June 19: Corpus Christi in Cusco

Immerse yourself in Cusco’s rich spiritual traditions with an early morning visit to the Inca archaeological wonders of Sacsayhuamán, Tambomachay, Puka Pukara, and Qenqo. These sites showcase the engineering brilliance and cultural legacy of the Incas. At noon, enjoy a traditional Andean lunch before heading to the Plaza de Armas to witness the magnificent Corpus Christi Procession. This vibrant festival features 15 elaborately adorned saints and virgins carried through the streets amidst music, dances, incense, and floral offerings. This unique celebration is a powerful fusion of Catholic and Andean traditions, offering an unforgettable cultural experience. After dinner we go back to our hotel for a good night of rest.

Day 5, June 20: Farewell to Cusco

Spend your final morning exploring Cusco at your leisure, visiting vibrant markets or perhaps attending mass at the iconic Cathedral. At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima and onward to your final destination. Meals: Breakfast
