ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – City Tour & Surrounding Archaeological Sites

Welcome to Cusco! Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel, where you’ll be offered a warm cup of coca tea to acclimatize and receive a brief overview of the exciting tours ahead. The morning is yours to relax or explore at your leisure. In the afternoon, we begin our guided city tour with a visit to Cusco’s historic Plaza Mayor and the awe-inspiring Temple of the Sun (Korikancha). From there, we’ll venture into the hills surrounding the city to discover the remarkable Inca complexes of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, and the iconic Sacsayhuaman Fortress, known for its massive stones, some towering over 9 meters and weighing more than 200 tons!

Day 2: Sacred Valley Exploration – Pisac, Ollantaytambo & Aguas Calientes

Today, we embark on a full-day guided tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, beginning with a panoramic view of the ancient Inca citadel of Pisac. Stroll through the vibrant Indian market of Pisac, where you’ll witness the traditions of the locals and maybe even practice your bargaining skills. On Sundays, the town hosts a special Quechua Mass. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch featuring regional specialties before continuing to the majestic fortress of Ollantaytambo, a strategic site built to guard the valley. Here, we’ll explore its impressive military, religious, and cultural significance while wandering through the well-preserved Inca streets. In the evening, we’ll board a scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax.

Day 3: Machu Picchu – A Journey to the Lost City

Rise early for the highlight of your trip: Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. A short bus ride will take us along winding roads to the entrance of this extraordinary citadel. On a 3-hour guided tour, marvel at the architectural and engineering brilliance of the Incas as you visit iconic sites like the Main Plaza, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Three Windows, and the Sacred Solar Clock (Intihuatana). For those with extra energy, an optional hike to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate) offers breathtaking panoramic views. After your visit, enjoy a relaxing lunch before returning to Cusco by train and bus.
